Bis-PEG-12 Dimethicone Beeswax (INCI: Bis-PEG-12 Dimethicone Beeswax) is a silicone-and-wax structurant. It stabilizes the emulsion and gives a soft, full-bodied texture to balms, sticks and dense creams. This is a functional ingredient, not a skincare active. It works on the structure and feel of the formula, not on wrinkles or pigment. Its value is in consistency. Because of its topical use and lack of meaningful systemic uptake, it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without restriction. Tolerance is good: low irritation and allergy potential. It is worth knowing that it derives partly from beeswax, so anyone with a known allergy to bee products should keep it in mind. On most skin there is no reaction.
