Genistein glucoside (INCI Genistein Glucoside) is a soy isoflavone bound to a sugar molecule, which improves its stability. In cosmetics it is used as a plant-derived antioxidant and linked to firmness because of its structural similarity to compounds that act on skin estrogens. The antioxidant side makes sense: isoflavones help neutralize free radicals in the skin. For firmness the maker draws that link, but independent data is scarce. As a support antioxidant it works; as a standalone firming active the evidence is modest. Applied topically it is not systemically relevant, so at cosmetic concentrations it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without issue. Tolerability is good. Irritation and allergy potential are both low, suitable for sensitive skin. There is no data on relevant comedogenicity.
