Glycereth-7 Triacetate is a light emollient, a derivative of ethoxylated glycerin esterified with acetic acid. In a formula it smooths texture, gives an even finish and helps the skin hold a little water thanks to its glycerin part. It is used in creams, serums and products with a silky finish. This is a functional emollient, not a treatment active. It improves the sensory feel and gives light surface hydration, but it is not a strong humectant or an anti-aging active. Its contribution supports the formula, useful for feel and spread. With topical use systemic absorption is negligible, so you can use it during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: irritation and allergy are both low, and it suits sensitive skin. It carries no meaningful comedogenic tendency, so it also works on combination skin.
