Hydrogenated Phosphatidylcholine is a stabilized form of the phospholipid from soy or sunflower. INCI: Hydrogenated Phosphatidylcholine. Hydrogenation makes the molecule more oxidation-stable than plain phosphatidylcholine. In a formula it works as an emulsifier, barrier-support component, and carrier: it forms liposomes, helps deliver actives, is related to skin lipids, and supports the barrier and water retention. It is a useful functional-barrier component with a meaningful lipid rationale. Pregnancy safety. Topical use is systemically negligible, with no evidence of harm. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Tolerance. Irritation and allergen potential are low, suitable for dry and sensitive skin.
