Linoleamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate is a conditioning component built from linoleic acid with a cationic betaine group. It spreads over skin and hair, leaves a soft feel and adds a small share of a fatty acid that is akin to the skin barrier. It appears in lotions, conditioners and formulas for dry skin. This is a functional conditioning ingredient. It improves texture and slip, and the linoleic acid it carries is compatible with the lipids of the stratum corneum, which supports a feeling of comfort. Even so, its concentration is usually low, so treating it as a strong repair active would overstate things; its role is supporting. With topical use systemic absorption is negligible, so you can use it during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: irritation and allergy are both low, and it suits sensitive skin. It is not linked to any meaningful comedogenic tendency.
