A nourishing plant extract. Safe.
Avocado fruit extract (INCI: Persea Gratissima Fruit Extract) is a plant-derived ingredient rich in fatty acids, sterols and fat-soluble vitamins. In formulas it works as an emollient and conditioning agent: it softens the surface of dry skin and reduces the feeling of tightness. On efficacy, the honest read is modest. This is a functional support ingredient, not an active with a marked clinical effect. It adds comfort to the skin and slip to the texture, and its lipid profile suits dry skin well, but do not expect results on the level of a targeted active. Applied topically, systemic absorption is minimal, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good. Irritation and allergy potential are low, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin. People with a known avocado allergy should keep the usual caution, though most users have no reaction.
