Polyglucuronic Acid is a humectant polysaccharide built from glucuronic acid units, the same block that makes up part of hyaluronic acid. In a formula it draws water to the surface and forms a thin film that holds moisture and gives a soothing feel. It is used in serums, moisturizers and products for sensitive or dehydrated skin. It has a reasonable basis as a humectant: polysaccharides of this kind retain water and support skin comfort, so here we are talking about a useful effect, not just marketing. Even so it stays a supporting active, not a treatment that changes skin structure; it adds value as a humectant and soothing agent. With topical use it has no systemic relevance, so you can use it during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is very good: irritation and allergy are both low, which makes it a fit for sensitive and reactive skin. It does not dry the skin or add meaningful comedogenic load.
