PPG-15 Stearyl Ether is an emollient ester derived from stearyl alcohol with a polypropylene glycol chain. In cosmetics it softens skin, gives a light slip and helps solubilise and spread other ingredients in the formula. It appears in creams, lip products and makeup. This is a functional formula component, not a skincare active. It works on feel, spreadability and ingredient compatibility, not on wrinkles or spots. Its benefit is textural and comfort-related, real but limited to that level. Applied topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerability is good, with low irritation and allergy potential, suitable for sensitive skin. Comedogenicity is mild (2 of 5): no problem for most skin, though on very oily or acne-prone skin it is worth noting when present at a high level.
