PPG-3 myristyl ether (INCI: PPG-3 Myristyl Ether) is an emollient and solvent derived from myristyl alcohol with short polypropylene glycol chains. It softens skin, improves how the product spreads, and helps dissolve actives and poorly soluble ingredients in the formula. It is a functional component, not a treatment active. Its role is sensory and supporting: it gives a pleasant feel, slip and better distribution, but it does not deeply hydrate or treat skin. It is a useful piece of the formula's architecture. Topically its systemic absorption is negligible, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is high: low irritation potential and low allergy risk, fine for sensitive skin. Comedogenicity is low (1), so most oily skin tolerates it well, though strongly acne-prone skin may want to watch its response in leave-on products.
