Helianthus Annuus Extract is a water or glycol extract of sunflower flowers, leaves, or seeds. Not to be confused with sunflower seed oil – the extract is water-soluble and non-comedogenic. Composition. Phytosterols, flavonoids (quercetin, caffeic acid), chlorogenic acid, tocopherols. Where applied. Moisturizing creams and serums, sensitive skin formulas, eco-positioned products. Evidence base. On skin works as a light antioxidant and moisturizing ingredient. Direct clinical RCTs are few; data rest on individual studied components (chlorogenic acid, tocopherols). Safety.
