Sea whip extract (INCI Sea Whip Extract) is obtained from the gorgonian Pseudopterogorgia, a soft marine coral. It supplies pseudopterosins, molecules of interest for their soothing action, and is used mainly in products for sensitive or reactive skin. On efficacy a measured take is right. Pseudopterosins show anti-inflammatory activity in lab models, but direct clinical evidence on human faces is limited. It fits as a supporting component within a soothing routine, helping skin comfort without promising dramatic results. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation potential and low allergy risk, suitable for sensitive and redness-prone skin. An individual reaction is unlikely.
