In cosmetics it is used with a soothing, softening direction, common in formulas meant for sensitive and delicate skin. On efficacy this is a supporting extract. It adds a soothing note and improves the comfort of reactive skin, but the clinical evidence base is modest and does not make it a corrective active with proven results. Its role is auxiliary within the formula. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
