In formulas it is added as a supporting soothing and humectant ingredient in the water phase of lotions, serums and creams. As an active it is a supporting component. It may bring a sense of comfort and some surface water retention, but specific clinical evidence is scarce, so you should not expect marked results on wrinkles or pigmentation.
