A reishi mushroom extract with polysaccharides and antioxidants. It hydrates and supports skin defense. Well tolerated.
Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
An antioxidant plant extract. Safe.
Reishi mushroom extract (INCI Ganoderma Lucidum Extract) comes from the Ganoderma lucidum fungus and brings polysaccharides and antioxidants. In a formula it helps hold water and adds a layer of antioxidant defense. On efficacy, keep expectations measured. There is interesting preliminary data for reishi, but solid topical evidence is limited. It works as a humectant and supporting component, not a treatment that will transform skin on its own. During pregnancy and breastfeeding it is fine to use topically. Tolerance is good: low irritation and low allergy potential, suitable for sensitive skin. As with any mushroom or plant extract, an individual reaction is possible in sensitized people, though most do not react.
