A nourishing plant butter. Safe.
Garcinia Indica Seed Butter is the butter pressed from kokum seeds, a tree from southern Asia. It is rich in stearic acid and other lipids, which gives it a firm texture that melts with skin warmth. In cosmetics it acts as an emollient and mild occlusive: it nourishes, softens and helps support the skin barrier. As an ingredient it is solid for hydration and comfort. It is not a treatment active with specific targets but a care agent that improves texture and feel, useful in balms, rich creams and products for dry or barrier-weakened skin. For topical use there is no meaningful systemic absorption, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without concern. Tolerance is good: irritation and allergy potential are low, suitable for sensitive skin. Its comedogenicity is moderate (2 out of 5). On oily or acne-prone skin it is worth using judiciously and watching the response, since rich butters can feel somewhat heavy on those skin types.
