A hydrolyzed soy protein. It forms a soft film, retains water and smooths skin. Well tolerated.
Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
A functional protein humectant. Safe.
Hydrolyzed Soy Protein is soy protein broken into smaller peptides so it spreads and absorbs better in a formula. In creams and hair products it forms a light film that holds water and leaves the surface smoother and softer. It works as a humectant and texture conditioner. It gives a real surface-smoothing effect, but it does not act deeply on wrinkles or restructure the skin; it is a moisture-support component. For topical use it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy risk. People with a known soy allergy should keep it in mind, though skin reactions to the hydrolyzed protein are uncommon.
