Lauryl Laurate (INCI: Lauryl Laurate) is a waxy ester made from lauryl alcohol and lauric acid. In a formula it works as an emollient: it leaves a thin film that gives a dry, smooth glide without a greasy feel. You will often see it in creams, sticks and color cosmetics, where it improves texture. It is a functional ingredient, not a treatment active. It does not fix wrinkles or pigmentation. Its job is sensory and structural, and at that it performs well, adding a silky touch and helping to set solid formats. Applied topically it is not meaningfully absorbed, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without concern. Tolerance is high and the allergy risk is low, which makes it suitable for sensitive skin. Its comedogenic rating is moderate (2), so on oily or acne-prone skin it is worth watching how the skin responds when it appears at a high concentration.
