Citrullus Lanatus Seed Oil (watermelon seed oil) is a light oil rich in linoleic acid. In a formula it acts as an emollient and barrier support: it supplies skin-friendly lipids, softens and absorbs fast without a heavy feel. As an active it has a reasonable basis. Linoleic acid is a component oily or acne-prone skin often carries in lower proportion, and oils rich in it stay lighter and less occlusive than oleic-heavy oils. It is a solid everyday emollient, useful for comfort and mild flaking. Topically there is no relevant systemic uptake, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation and allergy, suitable for sensitive skin. Comedogenicity is minimal, so it fits even oily or acne-prone routines where heavier oils can be a problem.
