An olive leaf extract with oleuropein. An antioxidant that helps soothe and protect skin. Well tolerated.
Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
An antioxidant plant extract. Safe.
Olive leaf extract (INCI Olea Europaea Leaf Extract) is a plant extract rich in oleuropein, a polyphenol with antioxidant activity. In a formula it adds protection against free radicals and is linked to soothing skin and supporting its defense against environmental stress. On efficacy a measured tone helps: oleuropein's antioxidant activity is well documented in vitro, and as a botanical extract it gives reasonable antioxidant support within a formula. On its own it is not an active with strong clinical results but a good complement to the overall antioxidant strategy. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy, compatible with sensitive skin. There is no evidence of meaningful comedogenicity.
