Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil) is a cold-pressed base plant oil from apricot kernels. Contains oleic (60-70%), linoleic (25-30%) acids, vitamin E, phytosterols. Where applied. Massage oils, body creams and lotions, hair products, face creams for dry and mature skin (5-100%). Suitable as a base oil for diluting essential oils. Mechanism. Emollient: replenishes the lipid barrier, softens dry skin, reduces TEWL. Fatty acid profile close to sebum composition. Safety. Hypoallergenic; theoretical cross-reactivity with other Rosaceae (almond, peach, plum, cherry), clinically rare. Minimal comedogenicity (Fulton 2) – use with caution in acne patients. Pregnancy and lactation – safe. Suitable in any product, including pregnancy abdomen massage (if no symptomatic diastasis recti).
