Saccharomyces Lysate (INCI: Saccharomyces Lysate) is a fragmented yeast derivative that supplies amino acids, peptides and trace elements. In a formula it works as a humectant and conditioner, helping skin hold water and feel more comfortable. On efficacy it is a supporting component. Yeast lysates have an interesting makeup, but clinical evidence in human skin is limited and many claims come from the manufacturer. It improves hydration and comfort, with no proven anti-aging result on its own. During pregnancy and breastfeeding topical use poses no problem; it has no systemic relevance. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and low allergy risk, sensitive skin included. An isolated reaction in highly sensitized people is possible but uncommon.
