A plant extract. Safe.
Sesamum Indicum Seed Extract is an extract of sesame seed. Its full INCI is Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Extract. In a formula it nourishes and softens the skin and supplies lipids that support the skin barrier. As an emollient plant extract it plays a reasonable supporting role: it improves the comfort and suppleness of the surface, especially on dry skin. It is not a deep-transformation active; its place is in nourishment and barrier care within the formula. Topically it has no systemic relevance, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good and irritation and allergy risk are low. It comes from sesame, so people with a known sesame allergy should check the list, though topical reactions are uncommon.
