About this ingredient
Bifida Ferment Filtrate is the filtered product of Bifidobacterium spp. fermentation (relatives of gut bifidobacteria). Contains no live cells – it is a mix of short-chain peptides, amino acids, nucleotides, exopolysaccharides, and postbiotic metabolites. Claimed mechanism. French cosmeceutical brands (Lancôme Advanced Génifique, the 2008 pioneer) describe DNA repair activation and suppression of inflammatory signalling via skin TLR receptors. In vitro fibroblast stimulation and lower IL-6 and IL-8. Where applied. Anti-age serums and creams with a 'pre/postbiotic' claim, sensitive-skin formulas. Concentration 0.5–5%. In Spain part of Lancôme Génifique, SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Gel (as an adjunct), and niche Korean lines. Evidence base. Few direct independent clinical RCTs.
