Bifidobacterium lysate, well-known from French cosmeceuticals (Lancôme Advanced Génifique). Functional formulation ingredient with no standalone activity on the skin.
Topical application
CWeak evidence. In vitro data, open-label studies, or expert consensus.
Vendor data suggest barrier improvement and reduced inflammatory markers. Few independent RCTs; effect, if present, is modest.
Bifida Ferment Filtrate is the filtered product of Bifidobacterium spp. fermentation (relatives of gut bifidobacteria). Contains no live cells – it is a mix of short-chain peptides, amino acids, nucleotides, exopolysaccharides, and postbiotic metabolites. Claimed mechanism. French cosmeceutical brands (Lancôme Advanced Génifique, the 2008 pioneer) describe DNA repair activation and suppression of inflammatory signalling via skin TLR receptors. In vitro fibroblast stimulation and lower IL-6 and IL-8. Where applied. Anti-age serums and creams with a 'pre/postbiotic' claim, sensitive-skin formulas. Concentration 0.5–5%. In Spain part of Lancôme Génifique, SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Gel (as an adjunct), and niche Korean lines. Evidence base. Few direct independent clinical RCTs. Most published data are manufacturer-sponsored studies (Lancôme, L'Oréal R&D), showing improvement in hydration, texture, and pigmentation at 8–12 weeks. Independent confirmation is weak; the 'skin microbiome and postbiotics' concept is scientifically promising but dermo-oncological and long-term data remain limited. Safety. Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, non-irritating. Allergy reports are isolated. Topical systemic absorption is minimal. Pregnancy and lactation – safe topically. No direct lactation data; the risk is purely theoretical. Realistic assessment. A marketing postbiotic of premium cosmeceuticals. No standalone anti-age benefit proved in monotherapy. If a bifida-filtrate product feels pleasant, hydrates, and causes no allergy, you can use it – just not as a substitute for retinol, vitamin C, and SPF.

SafeThe Evigrade extension adds an evidence panel to Wildberries, Goldapple, Letu, iHerb, Sephora and 12 more stores. This ingredient and every other one in the product show evidence-tier, allergen risk and pregnancy/lactation flags at a glance.
Bifida Ferment Filtrate is considered safe during pregnancy at typical cosmetic concentrations. Systemic absorption through the skin is minimal.
