On efficacy: a few brand studies hint at reduced sebum and apparent pore size, usually paired with oleanolic extract. The signal is modest and manufacturer-dependent, so it is better seen as a supporting ingredient within a routine rather than a sebum regulator on par with niacinamide or retinoids.
