An acai extract with anthocyanins. An antioxidant that supports skin defense. Well tolerated.
Topical application
BLimited evidence. One RCT or several controlled studies with limitations.
An antioxidant plant extract. Safe.
Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract (acai fruit extract) is rich in anthocyanins and other polyphenols. In a formula it works as a plant antioxidant: it helps neutralize free radicals at the surface and supports the skin against everyday oxidative stress. As an active it is a supporting antioxidant with reasonable in vitro backing, but its real effect on skin depends heavily on concentration and color stability in the formula. It is a good complement within an antioxidant routine, not a replacement for better-studied actives like vitamin C. Without sunscreen its protective contribution is limited. Topically systemic uptake is negligible, so it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Tolerance is good: low irritation and allergy, suitable for sensitive skin. It has no meaningful comedogenic profile, so it fits any skin type.
