White lupin seed oil (INCI: Lupinus Albus Seed Oil) is a plant oil rich in unsaturated fatty acids and sterols. In a formula it acts as an emollient: it softens, lowers transepidermal water loss, and leaves skin more pliable. It appears in creams, serums, and anti-aging products. As an active it is a supporting emollient. There are signals that lupin fractions help firmness and dermal matrix synthesis, but the solid clinical base is modest. It is better seen as a good nourishing oil than as a firming miracle. For topical use there is no relevant risk in pregnancy or lactation. It can be used during these periods. Tolerance is good, with low irritation and allergy potential. Its comedogenicity is mild (2), so oily and acne-prone skin should introduce it carefully. Lupin is a legume, so anyone with a known legume allergy should be cautious.
