About this ingredient
This ingredient (INCI: Tetrahydrodemethoxydiferuloylmethane) is another hydrogenated, colorless derivative of curcumin. It keeps the antioxidant activity of curcuminoids but without the yellow pigment, which allows its use in clear formulas. On the skin it scavenges free radicals and helps support the defense against oxidative stress. On efficacy, hydrogenated curcuminoids work as supporting antioxidants, backed mostly in vitro with limited clinical skin data. It adds to an antioxidant formula, without being a targeted treatment for wrinkles or dark spots on its own. Read it that way: a supporting ingredient.
