About this ingredient
Ceramide EOP is one of the physiological ceramides, lipids that are part of the skin's protective barrier. INCI: Ceramide EOP. In a formula it works as a repairing and moisturizing active: it integrates into the intercellular lipids of the stratum corneum, helps hold water, and strengthens a weakened barrier. Ceramides are one of the best-supported classes in barrier care, especially for dry, sensitive, and atopic skin. They work best in a physiological ratio with cholesterol and fatty acids. It is a useful barrier-support active rather than just a texture agent. Pregnancy safety. Topical use is systemically negligible, with no evidence of harm. It can be used during pregnancy and lactation. Tolerance. Irritation and allergen potential are low, suitable for dry and sensitive skin.
