Zinc Citrate (INCI: Zinc Citrate) is a zinc salt. It is added to give a sense of tighter pores, help control shine, and bring freshness, mostly in formulas for oily or acne-prone skin. On efficacy, this is a supporting component. Topical zinc has some astringent and oil-regulating logic, but the evidence base for zinc citrate in cosmetics is modest, and the effect on shine is usually subtle. It adds to a formula, it does not hold one up on its own. Because of its topical use and lack of systemic relevance, it can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding without concern. Tolerance is good: low irritation and allergy potential. It fits sensitive skin, and most skin shows no reaction.
