About this ingredient
Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (Rigin) is a synthetic lipopeptide: the tetrapeptide Gly-Gln-Pro-Arg with palmitic acid. An anti-aging peptide with claimed anti-inflammatory action. Mechanism. Claimed suppression of IL-6 production in keratinocytes under UV-stress induction (Sederma). By reducing chronic inflammation (inflammaging) protects collagen and elastin from degradation. Where applied. Anti-aging serums and creams. Often combined in formulas with matrixyl (Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4) – the commercial complex Matrixyl 3000. Formula concentration 2–5 ppm. Evidence base.
